LAHORE: Underdogs ruled the day at Lahore Race Club Sunday as Qaswa Princess and Public Star pulled off stunning victories in the Metropolitan Fillies Trial Cup and Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Cup respectively.
The surprises began in the opening race when Rafah crossed the finish line ahead of favourites Black Fire and Serenity. Falco continued the trend in the second race, claiming victory over favourite Al Mabrook, with American Star finishing third.
The third race saw another upset as Amanah Noor triumphed, followed by Victoria and Deedawar at second and third positions, respectively. The movement of surprises peaked in the Metropolitan Fillies Trial Cup when longshot Qaswa Princess stunned the field, with Quality Street and Manat completing the unexpected top three positions.
