SUKKUR: Sindh IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the number of kidnapped in Sindh are 16 while after a year one kidnapping case was reported in Karachi.
He said this while chairing high-level meeting in Sukkur on Sunday.
DIG Larkana, Sukkur and SSPs of their respective districts including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Ghotki and others attended the meeting.
SSPs briefed Sindh IGP regarding the law and order situation in their respective districts, preventive measures against crimes like kidnapping for ransom and honey trap.
Sindh IGP was informed in detail about the annual performance report including tribal clashes, ongoing operations against dacoits in Katcha areas and other serious crimes.
He discussed the police progress on the cases of police martyrs and gave instructions on solving the cases and arresting the accused. Sindh IGP reviewed the police action against dacoits in Katcha areas, operations against drug mafias and crime control.
Suggestions were taken to prevent kidnapping and further intensify action against robbers. The meeting discussed the efforts made to recover the kidnapped girl Priya Kumari.
Ghulam Nabi Memon after a meeting while talking to media said that many gangs of the criminals have been eliminated while schools and dispensaries have been opened which were closed due to deteriorated law and order.
He said that sale and smuggling of weapons to the dacoits of Katcha areas have been stopped. IG Sindh inaugurated the Abad Police station as a model police station in Sukkur. He said that actions against criminals are going on as per strategy.
