Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori on Sunday announced that fireworks display would take place at the Governor House to celebrate the New Year. He said all the five gates of the Governor House would be open for the people for the New Year celebrations.
The grand event will feature 40-minute fireworks show, he added. Expressing his wishes for the 2025, Tessori prayed that the New Year would bring peace, security, stability, economic growth and welfare for the people of Pakistan.
Earlier the Karachi city administration imposed the Section 144 in the metropolis for two days to ensure peaceful celebrations on New Year’s Eve. Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi issued a notification in this regard on the recommendation of the South Zone deputy inspector general of police.
The restrictions include a ban on carrying, displaying and brandishing weapons as well as aerial firing and the use of firecrackers. The Section 144 will remain enforced on December 31 (Tuesday) and January 1 (Wednesday). The notification said that strict action would be taken against the violators.
