Islamabad:Minister for Federal Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui called for collective efforts from all political parties to help the country overcome its ongoing crises.
During an event hosted by the College of International Skills Development and the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund, Siddiqui advocated the role of skill-based education in shaping Pakistan’s youth. The ceremony highlighted student projects that demonstrated creativity and innovation across various fields. The minister noted that the Fund was offering scholarships for skill-based education on a “need-cum-talent” basis and that these programs cover a wide range of fields, including beautician training, tourism, IT, fashion design, and digital media production.
“We will soon introduce Middle and Matric Tech programs in schools,” he announced. The minister emphasised that Pakistan’s youth population, which exceeded 180 million, required urgent policies for empowerment.
He underscored the importance of equipping young people with modern skills alongside formal education to enhance employment opportunities. “With proper resource allocation, we can ensure meaningful employment for our youth,” he said.
