BANNU: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Maulana Nasim Ali Shah on Saturday hinted at resigning from National Assembly due to the government’s failure to implement the 16-point agenda agreed with the members of the Bannu Qaumi Jirga.
Talking to reporters here, he also opposed the possible launch of the military operation in the Bannu district.
Nasim Shah said that he would stand by the people and said that two laws could not coexist in the country.
The other members of Bannu Qaumi Jirga were also present on this occasion.
The MNA criticized the government for filing “false terrorism cases” against elected representatives. He claimed that persons added to the Schedule-IV were often those not favoured by the state. “We will not back down even an inch in fighting for the rights of the people and resolving their issues,” he added.
Nasim Shah also raised concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the southern districts, particularly in Bannu, where residents faced severe challenges. “Law and order has worsened to the extent that no one feels safe here,” he said. He also opposed the launch of the possible military operation in Bannu and called for dialogue to resolve all issues. He said that the use of force was not the solution to any problem. The MNA said that he would continue to raise his voice on the floor of the National Assembly about the law and order and rights of the people. “If I fail to fulfill the trust placed in me by the people, I am ready to sacrifice my assembly membership,” he vowed.
