The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle arrested three women involved in human trafficking in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Saturday.
According to an FIA spokesman, the women were apprehended during a raid in the area for obtaining Pakistani national identity cards through forgery. The suspects, Ayesha Naz, Hina Naz, and Afshan Naz, are all Bangladeshi nationals.
Investigations revealed that the women had been wanted since 2022 for illegally obtaining Pakistani identity cards. They used forged documents, including fake birth and death certificates, with the help of an agent.
A union council in Liaquatabad Town issued these fake certificates, enabling the women to obtain national identity cards.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the accused were involved in a broader network of illegal activities.
FIA authorities had expanded the investigation to identify others who might have facilitated the women, including potential involvement by the National Database and Registration Authority officials. More arrests were expected as the investigation progresses.
