Islamabad:The USAID-funded Higher Education System Strengthening Activity has assessed the progress of its partner universities.

The HESSA organised a meeting with the vice chancellors of partner universities to evaluate progress and initiate the Year 4 work plan's implementation. Held by the University of Utah, the meeting offered an important platform to align on project goals, promote collaboration, and accelerate the execution of HESSA activities.

During the meeting, vice chancellors were briefed on new initiatives being launched in partnership with the Higher Education Commission and the National Academy of Higher Education. These initiatives include the implementation of a strategic planning initiative, curriculum development for various academic levels, and policy dialogues focused on critical issues in higher education. The vice chancellors promised support and commitment to advancing these initiatives.

Dr. Aslam Chaudhry and Dr. Michael Barber, professors at the University of Utah, led the discussions, emphasising the significant progress made through the successful collaboration between US and Pakistani universities, as well as the HEC. The partnership has been instrumental in driving positive changes in Pakistan’s higher education system in recent years.
