PLRA updates software to prevent delays in mutations, registry
LAHORE: The Punjab Land Records Authority has made significant changes to its Central Land Records Management and Information System software to prevent delays in mutations and registry.
Previously, many cases involving mutations and registrations were delayed due to revenue officers and sub-registrars not making timely decisions, even after completing biometric verification and recording statements. This led to increase in pending cases and caused inconvenience to the general public.
With the new software updates, revenue officers and sub-registrars will be required to make a decision on each case within three days after completing necessary verifications. This will ensure that mutations and registrations are processed without undue delay.
The Director General of the Punjab Land Records Authority, Ikram Haq, has stated that the authority is committed to providing transparent and efficient services to its customers and protecting the rights of property owners.
Earlier Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman has directed that the computerisation of land records be completed soon. He gave this direction while presiding over a meeting of deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners of Lahore Division at the Commissioner’s Office here on Friday.
The commissioner Lahore Division, administrative secretaries of finance, communication and works department, LDA DG, deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners of Lahore Division attended the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the chief secretary said that the process of reforms is under way to solve the people’s problems related to the revenue. He said that through e-registration, the corruption has been controlled and there has been transparency in the process of land transfer. The chief secretary also issued instructions regarding disposal of revenue cases as early as possible.
The chief secretary said that as per the vision of the chief minister, recommendation/reference has been eliminated in the transfers and postings of officers in Punjab and appointments in the provincial bureaucracy are done only on the basis of merit. He said that the officers have been given full freedom to work; therefore, it is their responsibility to deliver. The chief secretary asked the officers to perform their duties with diligence, integrity and spirit of public service.
