Many of Radio Pakistan’s serving and retired employees have been denied a basic medical allowance facility for almost three years now. Under the current government pay scales, Radio Pakistan’s serving and retired employees are entitled to receive a certain amount along with their salaries and pensions as a medical allowance. But this continues to be denied to them.
Many are also being denied the increase in their pensions, implemented during the last two budgets. As a matter of fact, retired employees’ pension payments are currently in arrears. All the while, many other government servants are enjoying a lavish lifestyle with their housing, transport and many other expenses being covered. This is sheer injustice.
