ABBOTTABAD: The long-awaited appointments of the members of Board of Governors (BoG) of the Ayub Medical Teaching Institution (AMTI) Abbottabad have been notified by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government after formal approval by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.
According to a notification issued by Secretary Health, copies of which are available with The News, three new members of the Board of Governors (BoG), including Usman Ali, Javaid Qaisar and Dr Gul Afshana Hafeez Khan, were notified.
With the fresh appointment, the number of BoG members has reached five.These appointments have been made under Section 5(3) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Teaching Institution Reforms Act, 2015, and are effective immediately. The members will serve for a period of three years.
Dr Abid Jameel, a senior oncologist, is the chairman of the BoG of the AMTI while Dr Alamzeb Manan has already been notified as a BoG member. Officials said the appointments were aimed at strengthening the management of Ayub Medical Complex and ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
