A police official and another person were injured on after being shot near the Abdullah College and Korangi’s Chakra Goth areas respectively. Meanwhile, two Christian teenagers were injured in celebratory firing near Korangi Coast Guard during a community festival. Two unidentified robbers on a motorcycle opened fire on a 27-year-old Special Branch official, Syed Muhammad Haider Abidi, near the Abdullah College within the jurisdiction of the Pirabad police station when the latter did not stop.
The incident took place when Abidi was on his way home to Orangi Town. The suspects fled the scene after the firing. As a result of the firing, the police official was injured and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In another incident in Chakra Goth within the jurisdiction of the Zaman Town police station, a 25-year-old youth, Abdul Waheed, was shot and injured. The firing reportedly took place over personal enmity.
The youth was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and police initiated an investigation. Separately, during a Christian community festival near the Korangi Coast Guard, 15-year-old Jackson Masih and 18-year-old Stephen Masih were injured in celebratory gunfire. They were shifted to the JPMC. The Zaman Town police arrested a suspect, Arshad Masih, son of Saleem Masih, and seized a 9mm pistol from his possession. A case has been registered.
