Quaid-e-Azam birth anniversary marked with zeal
PESHAWAR: Various events were organised in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in connection with the 148th birth anniversary of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day dawned with special prayers at mosques across the province for the progress, prosperity and unity of the country.Special ceremonies and activities were organized to pay homage to the great leader. Schools and colleges organised declamation contests and competitions focusing on his leadership and principles of unity, faith, and discipline.
In the provincial capital, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa celebrated the birth anniversaries of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and PMLN president Nawaz Sharif.
An event to this effect was arranged at the provincial secretariat of the party where Federal Minister and PMLN Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Amir Muqam was the chief guest.Additional Secretary for Information, Arbab Khizr Hayat, and other party leaders also participated.
Amir Muqam urged adherence to the principles of unity, faith and discipline.He lauded Nawaz Sharif’s unwavering stance against the US pressure. “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also shown the same resolve that no foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs will be tolerated”, he said.
Criticizing certain political forces, Amir Muqam accused them of prioritizing the interests of an individual over the nation.He expressed confidence that such efforts would fail and the sacrifices made by the security agencies and the public to uphold the nation’s sovereignty would bear fruits.
“The entire nation takes pride in these sacrifices and salutes the heroes of the nation, who have maintained peace and order both at the borders and within the country”, he remarked.The PMLN leader condemned anti-military campaigns and said such bids were aimed at weakening the nation. He recalled the sacrifices made by the people of KP since the time of the referendum in favour of Pakistan.The event concluded with speeches from other leaders, including Additional Secretary for Information Arbab Khizr Haya.
