Minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan, says minister
LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, while congratulating the Christian community on the joyous occasion of Christmas, has said that Hazrat Eisa (AS) is a very chosen prophet of Allah. Hazrat Eisa (AS) is a symbol of peace and respect for the whole world. Khawaja Salman Rafique said that all minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal and fundamental rights. We are equal partners in the joys of the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.
Christmas gifts for prisoners
Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora Wednesday visited Lahore Camp Jail and distributed Christmas gifts among the prisoners. All religious boards chairman Asim Makhdoom accompanied the minister.
Jail Superintendent Zahid Ahmad Malik briefed the minister on the jail’s affairs. The Minister said the Punjab government was taking all possible measures to protect rights and well-being of the minority community.
He said societal justice principles must guide us to provide prisoners with opportunities to live with dignity and respect. Meanwhile, the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) officials Wednesday celebrated Christmas and the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with its staff and especially with Christian staff.
Cake-cutting ceremonies and festivities were organised at the Royal Trail, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Gardens, and Jahangir’s Tomb. Santa Claus delighted children with his appearance and gave gifts to children. On the occasion, WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari expressed wishes to the Christian community and said the WCLA values the contributions of its Christian staff.
ACE DG cuts Christmas cake
Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Sohail Zafar Chattha Wednesday cut a Christmas cake with Christian employees and distributed gifts among them. Addressing a gathering in connection with Christmas at ACE HQs Lahore, the DG expressed good wishes for the Christian community. He said according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, all minorities have equal rights in Pakistan and their protection is the primary responsibility of all of us. He said minorities in Pakistan are enjoying full freedom.
