LAHORE: Defending champions Wapda will compete against Karachi in the opening match of the National Women’s Basketball Championship starting on Thursday (today) here at Wapda Sports Complex.
The Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) Secretary General Khalid Bashir said that all arrangements have been completed for the successful five-day championship where top eight teams taking part in the event have been divided into two pools.
He said that Pool “A” comprises defending champion Wapda, Karachi, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur while Pool “B” consists of Army, Lahore, Islamabad and Hazara divisions. Khalid Bashir said that four matches will be played on a daily basis. The semi-final round of the championship will be played on December 29 while the final will be played on December 30.
