Youth unemployment is a serious problem in Pakistan, threatening the country’s future. With a growing population and few job opportunities, the gap between education and employment has widened. Graduates entering the job market are often unprepared due to outdated curriculum and a lack of vocational training. Privatising public institutions and selling national organisations might make things worse, leading to many job losses, especially for middle and lower-income families.
The effects of unemployment are severe, including increased poverty and mental health issues among the youth. A generation that should be driving national growth is stuck, leading to frustration and disillusionment. To address this crisis, the government must focus on creating jobs through investments in industrialisation and technology. Public-private partnerships can encourage entrepreneurship, and education reforms can align skills with market needs.
