KARACHI: A civil court has ordered K-Electric to pay Rs4.8 million in compensation to the parents of an eight-year-old boy who died of electrocution due to negligence on the part of the power utility.
Khaliq Uddin and his wife, Uzma, filed a suit in a District East civil court seeking Rs14.5 million in damages from K-Electric under the Fatal Accidents Act 1855 over their son Azhan Siddiqui’s death due to electrocution in Malir’s Model Colony on August 23, 2017.
