RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court Tuesday indicted another accused in the GHQ attack case.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah dismissed the applications of former PTI chairman, former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry and Opposition Leader Omar Ayub for providing the evidence and footages concerning the case after hearing arguments of the counsel.
The hearing of the case, including Omar Ayub’s pre-arrest bail application in three cases, was adjourned until January 6.
Former MNA Bilal Ahmed, nominated in the case, was indicted through his pleader. Thus, a total of 117 accused out of 119 accused have been indicted, while the court has summoned the remaining two accused.
Omar Ayub’s lawyer Dr. Babar Awan has filed bail applications in the three cases registered by Hassanabdal police.
The pre-arrest application could not be heard due to Omar Ayub’s unavailability. Omar Ayub filed an application under Section 265C of the Criminal Procedure Code for provision of audio-video records of the cases, expert reports, and copies of the confessional statements of Sadaqat Abbasi and Wasiq Qayyum, which was dismissed and the hearing on the application for interim bail was adjourned until February 6.
Meanwhile, the court dismissed the application of former MPA Latasib Satti to go for Umrah for not providing the required details.
