‘Minorities have complete religious freedom in country’

NANKANA SAHIB: A cake cutting ceremony was organised to mark the Christmas festivities at Officers Club here on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao and DPO Syed Nadeem Abbas were the chief guests of the event. Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the minorities had complete religious freedom in Pakistan. He said that special Christmas stalls had been established where 10 per cent discount was available for the Christian community. DPO Syed Nadeem Abbas said that the protection of rights of the minorities were being ensured. A large number of people from different walks of life, including representatives of Sikh community, were also present on the occasion.

MALAKWAL: A Christmas cake cutting ceremony was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Mandi Bahauddin on Tuesday.

The function was attended by leaders of the Christian community, DC’s Office employees and others. Speaking on the occasion, DC Dr Faisal Saleem said that Mandi Bahauddin had always been an example of brotherhood and religious harmony, where the minorities celebrated their festivals with devotion and enthusiasm. He further informed that the district administration had taken special measures on the occasion of Christmas, including organising subsidised Christmas bazaars in the three tehsils of the district, including Phalia, Malakwal and Mandi Bahauddin.
