Christmas, Quaid Day security finalised
LAHORE : Punjab Police on Tuesday finalised the security plan for Christmas and Quaid-i-Azam Day. According to the details, over 30,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed for the security of more than 2,900 churches across the province.
Over 5,000 police officers and personnel will be assigned security duties at more than 600 Christian places of worship in the City. Over 1,000 police personnel will be deployed for the security of programmes held on Quaid-i-Azam Day.
IG Punjab has instructed all RPOs and DPOs to ensure high security with additional forces deployed at sensitive churches. He directed that the police remain extremely alert and keep a close watch on anti-state elements and suspicious individuals with the help of PSCA cameras. He said that foolproof security should be ensured at parks, recreational places, foreign embassies, and all sensitive installations during Christmas, and interfaith harmony should be promoted during Christmas in collaboration with leaders of all faiths.
