ISLAMABAD. The Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain extended the physical remand of the accused arrested in the case of crushing three Rangers personnel for another three days.
During the hearing on Monday, the police presented the accused Hashim Abbasi before the court after a 7-day physical remand. The Ramna Police Station requested further physical remand of the accused. Prosecutor Raja Naveed said that the accused had to be interrogated and the other accused had to be arrested in light of their statement. The court handed over the accused to the police on a physical remand for another three days.
In another case, an Anti-Terrorism Court Judge extended the interim bail of Omar Ayub in the cases registered in the D-Chowk protest case. Lawyer Sardar Masroof Khan filed a petition for exemption from Omar Ayub’s presence, stating that Ayub has to appear in a case under trial in Peshawar High Court. The court accepted Omar Ayub’s petition for exemption from attendance, extended the interim bail and adjourned the hearing till January 17. Four cases have been registered against Omar Ayub at Kohsar police station, two at Noon police station, and one in Margalla, Shahzad Town, Aabpara and Tarnol Police Station.
