Hard Area Allowance for cops under consideration: IG

LAHORE:Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that the proposal for a Hard Area Allowance for the employees deployed at the PHP checkpoints in border areas is under consideration.

He said that the personnel deployed at the border posts of Punjab Highway Patrol are facing the challenges of terrorism, and elite training is being conducted to enhance the operational capacity of the PHP force.

IG Punjab expressed these views while presiding over an important meeting at the Central Police Office on Monday. He mentioned that body cameras will be provided to PHP personnel for better service delivery and to curb criminals on highways. The meeting discussed the infrastructure development, upgradation, and welfare of employees of Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP).

Orders resolution of cops’ issues

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar met with police employees and their families at the Central Police Office. IG Punjab listened to the requests of the police employees and issued orders for their immediate resolution.

On the request of Constable Asghar Ali of the CTD, IG Punjab directed the DPO Sheikhupura to provide relief, while on the promotion request of ASI Sultan Mehmood of Lahore Police, Dr Usman Anwar instructed the DIG Establishment-I to provide relief.

Similarly, on the financial assistance request of Sub-Inspector Raees Shehzad from Mianwali, IG Punjab directed the DIG Welfare and Finance to provide relief, and on the promotion request of Sub-Inspector M Azam from Gujranwala, relief was directed to be given to the CPO Gujranwala.

IG Punjab also issued instructions for relief on the financial assistance request of Special Branch’s gardener M Naeem Tahir, directing the DIG Establishment-I, and on the recruitment request of the widow of Constable M Inam Ullah of Lahore, directed the DIG Welfare and Finance to provide relief.

Christmas cake-cutting ceremony

A colorful Christmas cake-cutting ceremony was held at the Central Police Office in honour of Christian officers and employees on the occasion of Christmas. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar was the chief guest on this occasion.

IGP Punjab also extended Christmas greetings to the Christian employees and awarded certificates of appreciation to those who had shown outstanding performance. He announced a Christmas bonus of Rs10,000 per person and an additional holiday for the Christian employees of CPO.
