Cop succumbs to injuries

LAKKI MARWAT: A police official who was injured in a fierce gun-battle with militants in Bannu two weeks ago lost the struggle for life at a hospital in Peshawar, said police officials on Monday.
Police said that the body of the martyred cop Amanullah was brought to Bannu and his funeral prayer was offered at the police lines which was attended by police officials and a large number of people. A police contingent presented a salute of respect to their fallen colleague while police and administration officials placed floral wreaths on his coffin. Later the body was dispatched to his native village for burial with full official honour.
