Five killed in road accidents

LAHORE:Five persons were killed and 1,350 injured in 1,275 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 566 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 748 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Cop arrested for selling drugs

Lahore police arrested a police official involved in selling drugs in his circle. According to the details, a Batapur police official started a drug business in his circle. Manawan police arrested the police official, Waqas, red-handed selling drugs and registered a case. The policeman was arrested near the BRB canal and drugs worth thousands of rupees were recovered from his possession of the accused.

Bike thief held

The Organised Crime Unit (OCU) Lahore arrested a motorcycle thief on Sunday while cracking down on criminal elements. Inspector M Qamar Sajid, along with his team, arrested Ali alias Kaka. According to the DSP, dozens of motorcycles worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from the accused. The accused had fled abroad to avoid arrest. The accused revealed several incidents of motorcycle theft.

Killer arrested

An accused, who had kidnapped and killed a citizen of Iqbal Town, has been arrested. DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar had taken notice of the incident. In-charge Investigation of Iqbal Town Police Station Murtaza Aslam took action along with a police team. The accused, Zeeshan Abbas, was arrested from Chakwal.

According to the in-charge investigation, the accused had taken money from the victim, Ghulam Hussain, to send him abroad. When he did not fulfill his promise, the victim demanded his money back. The accused kidnapped the victim, took him to Chakwal and killed him at a deserted place. The accused has confessed to the crime.
