Islamabad: Federal Health Secretary Nadeem Mahbub has said that the national health services ministry has released additional funds of Rs250 million for repairs and maintenance at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
The health secretary said this during a visit to the hospital on Sunday after reviewing the repair and revamping plans for the main building of PIMS, Mother-Child Healthcare Centre, and Children's Hospital.
He also said the ministry would further provide an additional Rs150 million for the maintenance of the hospital. The CDA engineers and PIMS administration briefed the secretary about the ongoing work in the hospital. He issued instructions to ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of washrooms, the fixing of roof leaks on an emergency basis, and immediate repair of broken stretchers to benefit patients.
The secretary also instructed authorities to ensure the completion of the hospital's renovation work fast and efficiently and said the facilities provided to patients in the hospital should be improved.
