Firing at wedding ceremony injures boy

LAHORE:A 14-year-old boy was injured during an aerial firing incident at a wedding ceremony in Nishtar Colony on Friday. The victim, identified as Hamza, was returning home from his academy when a stray bullet hit him near a wedding hall. He was immediately shifted to General Hospital for medical treatment, where his condition is said to be stable.

Nishtar Colony SHO Faheem Imdad confirmed that accused, identified as Jawad, along with his accomplice, has been arrested. A case has been registered against the suspects under relevant laws.

Valuables gutted in three fire incidents

Fires broke out in three different areas of the provincial capital on Friday, causing significant property damage but fortunately no loss of life. According to Rescue 1122 officials, the first incident occurred at a plastic warehouse in Shahinabad near Band Road, within the Sherakot area. The blaze quickly engulfed the premises, prompting a swift response from Rescue 1122 teams.

In a separate incident, a photocopy shop on Poonch Road in Samanabad caught fire, damaging equipment and materials inside. Around the same time, another fire erupted in a residential building near Shabab Chowk in Samanabad, causing panic among the residents.

Rescue teams reached the scenes promptly and managed to extinguish the fires at all three locations after a concerted effort. Speaking to the media, Rescue 1122 officials confirmed that no casualties were reported in any of the incidents. However, valuable property and goods were destroyed, causing significant financial losses.
