LAHORE:Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation retrieved precious land worth billions of rupees from illegal occupants in Jhang city and dismissed two of its directors involved in facilitating the unauthorised occupation.
Rai Manzoor Nasir, Managing Director of the Punjab Servants Housing Foundation, said this land, measuring 640-kanal, was situated at prime location near Satellite Town in Jhang city. He said two of its directors who had been hand in glove with the influential occupants had also been dismissed from service. No one would be allowed to occupy state land, he clarified unequivocally.
Schools asked to set up environ societies
LAHORE:The School Education Department (SED) issued a directive on Sunday to all schools in the province to establish Environmental Societies till January 31, 2025. The SED sources told APP that the societies would focus on combating environmental pollution and eliminating smog.
In this regard, the district education officers across all districts would lead these societies. Schools are also required to appoint focal persons for smog prevention, and the School Education Department has mandated the formation of these committees within three days.
