ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said on Saturday that he has accepted Barrister Gohar Khan’s proposal to form a negotiation committee.
“In response to PTI’s proposal to form a negotiation committee, the prime minister has been requested to establish a government negotiation team,” he said in response to Barrister Gohar Khan’s comments to the media outside the court.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Barrister Gohar Khan had acknowledged the speaker’s role as the custodian of the house and requested that he actively participate in the negotiations.
“I accept Barrister Gohar Khan’s proposal to form a negotiation committee,” he said.
The speaker emphasized that the solution to the country’s issues lies in negotiations. “We want to resolve the problems, and political instability must come to an end,” he said.
Earlier, Gohar on Saturday said the NA speaker had assured him to form a committee for talks. He hoped the committee will be formed by tomorrow. Negotiations will take place as they are the only solution. In response to a question, Gohar said the civil disobedience movement will also be implemented.
