‘Farmers being provided record subsidy on agri machinery’
MULTAN: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken another revolutionary step by distributing agriculture machinery, and equipment among the farmers at the highest subsidy rate for agriculture and prosperity of farmers.
A ceremony was held in Multan under the Agriculture Engineering Department on Saturday for agricultural machinery and equipment. Former Member of the Punjab Assembly Rana Ijaz Ahmed Noon was the chief guest, who said that under the Punjab
Chief Minister Mechanised Farming Programme, up to 60 per cent subsidy is being provided for the purchase of agricultural equipment and machines at a cost of billions of rupees.
A farmer will be provided with a maximum subsidy of Rs 500,000 to purchase agriculture equipment according to his wishes and needs.
The use of agricultural machinery will save energy and time, while crop production will increase.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is making a revolutionary step in transforming the agriculture sector, said Rana Ijaz. The welfare of farmers is priority of the Punjab government, and this subsidy reflects its farmer-friendly policies. In the Multan district, a total of 305 farmers submitted applications.
After a thorough review, a draw was conducted on Saturday for 231 of those applications. Twenty-seven successful farmers were announced from 9 centres of Multan district, he added.
