FJMU conference ends
LAHORE : The Annual International Scientific Conference 2024 has concluded at Fatima Jinnah Medical University's (FJMU) here on Saturday.
The event brought together guests, speakers, and participants to make conference a success and foster connections among the medical community. The conference showcased the latest advancements in medical sciences, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation.
Prof M Shoaib Shafi, the President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), and Lt-Gen (retd) Khalid Maqbool, the former Governor of Punjab were the guests of honour.
Parliamentary Secretary Health Rushda Lodhi, Vice Chancellor (KEMU) Prof Mahmood Ayaz, and former Vice Chancellor (FJMU) Prof Aamir Zaman Khan also attended the event. Prof Aisha Malik and Prof Bilquis Shabbir performed as stage secretaries.
FJMU VC Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal appreciated the Alumni Association of Fatima Jinnah Medical College's special efforts, highlighting their significant role in representing Pakistan abroad.
Prof Shoaib Shafi delivered a comprehensive address, showcasing CPSP's remarkable academic achievements and global partnerships in quality higher medical education in Pakistan. He congratulated Prof Khalid Masood Gondal on the recognition of four sub-specialties of Gynae, Emergency Medicine, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Pulmonology and Preventive Paed Medicine, underscoring CPSP's commitment to advancing medical education.
Prof Shoaib Shafi shared that CPSP's residents are training in various countries, including England, Ireland, and Nepal etc., demonstrating the organisation's global outreach and partnerships. He further mentioned that CPSP has had the honor of organizing convocations at the international level, further solidifying its reputation as a premier medical education institution.
Lt-Gen (retd) Khalid Maqbool praised Prof Khalid Masood Gondal as a great personality, congratulating him on organizing an exceptional international conference focused on Artificial Intelligence. He emphasised the importance of serving the motherland and ensuring the best treatment for patients. This resonates with Prof Gondal’s own dedication to improving healthcare in Pakistan.
Prof Mahmood Ayaz acknowledged the successful collaboration and dedication of FJMU's team in hosting a premier medical conference, fostering knowledge-sharing and networking among medical professionals.
