LAHORE : Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin visited the Tepa office here on Saturday.

On this occasion, LDA DG Tahir Farooq and Chief Engineer, Tepa, Iqrar Hussain gave a briefing. The meeting was briefed about the steps taken by Tepa to improve traffic flow in the provincial capital.

Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, steps should be taken to provide relief to the common citizen. Tepa should expand its scope to other major cities, said the Bilal Yasin and directed for taking special steps for pedestrians in the city.

He said that Tepa should increase its capacity and further improve enforcement. The minister clarified that digital reforms will also be carried out in Tepa under the Digital Punjab vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Housing Minister Bilal Yasin also directed for building pedestrian bridges to prevent accidents on closed roads.

Tepa officers said in the briefing that patchwork has been done at 1,385 places on 39 highways of the city, lane marking, pothole repair and zebra crossing have been done at important places of the city and Tepa will install the first Pelican signal at Faisal Chowk on Mall Road.

Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain also gave a briefing about the ongoing campaign against illegal signboards and road signboards.
