Islamabad : A heartfelt and sombre joint reference was held by the Association of Business, Professional, and Agricultural Women (ABP&AW) to pay tribute to two remarkable individuals: Shameim Kazmi, the National President of ABP&AW, and Mukhtar Ali Malik, the late husband of Tahmeena Malik, president of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi branch of ABP&AW. The event was attended by members and well-wishers of the organisation, united in remembrance of their extraordinary contributions and legacies.
The proceedings began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, setting a reflective and reverent tone for the occasion. Najma Shahid, a long-standing member of ABP&AW, spoke briefly about Ms. Kazmi's unparalleled achievements, highlighting her unwavering commitment, dedication, and selfless service for the betterment of underprivileged women.
A moment of collective prayer (Dua) followed, as attendees prayed for the eternal peace of both Ms. Kazmi and Mukhtar Ali Malik. This was accompanied by the screening of videos showcasing Ms. Kazmi’s lifelong efforts, leadership, and the extraordinary growth of ABP&AW under her stewardship. Her tireless work in steering the organisation’s branches to new heights of excellence left a lasting impression on all in attendance.
Tahmeena Malik, president of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi branch, shared her deeply personal reflections on both honourees. Speaking about her long-standing association with Ms. Kazmi, she described her as a mentor par excellence. “If I had to use just one word to describe her, it would be ‘inspiration,’” Malik said. “Her guidance and motivation paved the way for the success of our branches because she led from the front. To her, ABP&AW was not just an organisation—it was her family.”
Turning to her late husband, Mukhtar Ali Malik, Ms. Malik spoke with heartfelt emotion about the man who had been her rock and unwavering support for nearly five decades. “He was a wonderful human being—a loving husband, an affectionate father, and a doting grandfather. Mukhtar was one of a kind,” she said. Recalling their 47 years together, she shared that his steadfast encouragement had enabled her to achieve all her aspirations. “His presence was my pillar of strength,” she added, her voice steady with conviction. “His death must be celebrated, not mourned, because he is now in a better place.”
Ms. Malik shared cherished memories of her husband, recounting moments that illustrated his immense character and offering prayers for his eternal peace. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reflecting the profound love and respect she held for him.
Tributes continued with heartfelt remarks from Narjis Zaidi, Bushra Javed, and Saima Afzal, who praised the contributions of both Ms. Kazmi and Mr. Malik.
