It was disappointing to read PTI’s spokesman Naeem Ul Haq calling Mullah Mansour a martyr. If you call him martyr, what about the hundreds of civilians, children and women attacked and killed by the Taliban? Are they not martyrs? And it is not only the PTI; we are all living in a contradictory world. Just days before Mullah Mansour’s death, PM’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz had shown frustration over the Taliban’s refusal to attend peace talks. Now the Foreign Office is saying that Mullah Mansour’s killing has destroyed the peace talks.
Let us come out of these contradictions and see what the outside world is saying about us. Otherwise we will keep wondering why Pakistan is being isolated while all its neighbours are getting united. No one can help us unless we call a spade a spade.
