Greece boat tragedy: FIA books three people for human trafficking

FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday registered a case against three individuals allegedly involved in human trafficking related to the Greece boat tragedy.
Two FIA officers stationed at Faisalabad airport were also arrested for negligence during duty. Inspector Zubair Ashraf and Sub-Inspector Shahid Imran, who were on shift duty, were found guilty of neglecting the screening process of passengers.
Initial reports revealed that 18 Pakistani nationals, who departed from Faisalabad airport, were among the victims of the Greece boat tragedy.
While 17 victims were rescued, Sufyan, a resident of Sialkot, tragically lost his life in the incident.
Abdul Roof, Abbas Zulfiqar and Qamar Zaman, who had extorted large sums of money from the victims, have been named in the case. The FIA is conducting raids to arrest them.
