PESHAWAR: The Isotherm Inc. Texas USA, manufacturer of specialized heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and packaged systems for various industries and University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar have signed a letter of agreement to establish a specialized Pressure Equipment Training Centre at the Mechanical Engineering Department.
This collaboration, marked by the signing of a letter of agreement, aims to provide hands-on training to students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the field of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), with special applications in the oil and gas, industrial refrigeration, and energy sectors.
Dr Zahid Ayub, the CEO of Isotherm Inc. and an alumnus of Mechanical Engineering Department of the 1971 session came up with an impactful idea to give back to his alma mater.
His vision for setting up the centre is to empower the talented youth by equipping them with technical skills needed to thrive in these important industries. He has set an example for other alumni working in prominent companies or industries to collaborate with their alma mater and reconnect with the faculty to foster stronger ties between the university and the professional world.
Dr Abdul Shakoor from the Mechanical Engineering Department played a crucial role in setting the foundation and basis for the establishment of the training center under the leadership of Prof Dr Rizwan Gul Dean Faculty of Mechanical, Chemical and Industrial Engineering and Prof Dr. Hamid Ullah, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering Department in outlining the framework for this initiative.
The training centre will serve as a major step towards providing students with technical sills the opportunity to learn Computer-Aided Design and advanced technical skills from international experts of Isotherm Inc.
This collaboration manifests an ideal example of academia and industry linkage, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-driven experience.The training centre will not only enhance the students’ skills sets but also prepare them to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global workforce.
