MANSEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and former MPA Abdul Sattar Khan on Thursday welcomed the federal cabinet’s decision to annex the Kohistan region into the Hazara Electric Supply Company (Hazesco).
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been taking sincere measures to combat poverty and unemployment in the underdeveloped regions of Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, and Kolai-Palas. This is why the federal cabinet, chaired by him, approved the annexation of these districts into Hazesco,” he told mediamen here.
Flanked by party workers and office-bearers, Sattar Khan said that the PML-N Kohistan chapter had submitted its recommendations to the Prime Minister, advocating for the inclusion of the Kohistan region into Hazesco.
“Following Abbottabad and Mansehra, Kohistan will now become the third division under Hazesco. A total of 9,000 employees - 3,000 each -will be appointed as linesmen, meter readers, and in other categories,” he added.
He said that the ongoing prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding across the Hazara Division would significantly decrease.“With Kohistan’s annexation into Hazesco, a new era of prosperity and development is set to begin in the region,” Khan remarked. He said that Hazesco was yet to commence full operations despite appointing its hierarchy and technical staff.
