LANDIKOTAL: The Students of the Government Postgraduate College Landikotal on Thursday staged a protest outside the college gate to record their protest against the proposed affiliation of their college with Fata University.
The protesters, who chanted slogans, were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the affiliation of the Government Postgraduate College with Fata University.The protesting students blocked the Pak-Afghan Highway at Landikotal bypass road, causing a severe traffic jam.
Daud Shinwari, president of the students’ union, aand others spoke on the occasion. They strongly opposed the proposed affiliation of their college with Fata University and demanded the restoration of their college’s affiliation with University of Peshawar.They said the college’s departments of Zoology and Urdu were still affiliated with University of Peshawar, making the new arrangement illogical and inconvenient.
