CDA getting ready to introduce digital parking in all major parks

Islamabad:Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday chaired a meeting to discuss proposals for improving resource management, operational efficiency, and enhancing the authority's revenue generation.

The meeting was attended by CDA members, DG Resource Wing, ED Capital Hospital and the relevant senior officers. The DG Resource Wing provided a detailed briefing on proposals and practical policy interventions aimed at optimising performance and tapping into untapped resources.

The meeting also reviewed strategies for streamlining operations across key CDA Wings and departments, including the Environment Wing, Capital Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, and the Enforcement Wing.

Randhawa emphasized the importance of coordination across CDA directorates and Wings to implement approved initiatives and proposals effectively. He directed the Resource Wing to identify gaps, monitor progress, and ensure timely execution of proposals to optimize resource utilization.

The meeting discussed the various proposals for the Environment Wing included identifying revenue-generating sites, re-auctioning inactive sites and introducing premium recreational facilities in the city.

During the meeting, the CDA Chairman directed the introduction of digital parking in all major parks of Islamabad. He stated that the revenue generated from the parks would be spent for development and maintenance of the parks.

The meeting also discussed the proposals for Capital Hospital, focusing on enhancing financial self-reliance and enhancing operational efficiency of the hospital. Chairman CDA directed to reduce local medicine purchases, as well as appointing a Director of Finance. The Chairman directed the Executive Director of Capital Hospital to present a detailed plan for increasing financial viability.

The meeting also discussed the proposals regarding the Directorate of Health Services, highlighting the need to reopen non-functional medical centers and appoint medical officers. Proposals included mandating medical screening and vaccinations for workers in barber shops, food outlets, and other businesses as a prerequisite for licensing.

Regarding the Enforcement Wing, the proposals included assigning various targets, empowering inspectors with on-the-spot fine collection authority.Chairman CDA directed the adoption of an online fine collection system for greater transparency and efficiency.

The meeting underscored CDA's commitment to efficient resource management and self-sustainability while ensuring enhanced public services across Islamabad. Muhammad Ali Randhawa also took a meeting to review meeting regarding the progress of the Islamabad Solid Waste Management Project.

The meeting was attended by the Member Environment and senior officers from relevant departments. The meeting was briefed on the bidding process for outsourcing solid waste management. It was informed that the process of reviewing the bidding documents has been completed. The meeting also included a detailed discussion on various proposals related to the bidding process.

The purpose of establishing the Solid Waste Management Project is to introduce a comprehensive waste management system for all zones, including rural and urban areas with primary and secondary options for waste collection Randhawa instructed to expedite the process of providing solid waste management services. In this regard, he also directed the relevant authorities to publsih an advertisement for outsourcing solid waste management services soon.
