LGH celebrates X-mas with 600-pound cake

LAHORE:Lahore General Hospital and Punjab Institute of Neurosciences hosted a ceremony to celebrate Christmas and express solidarity with the Christian community on Thursday.

A 600-pound cake was cut on this occasion to promote religious harmony. Principal Ameer Uddin Medical College Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar, Executive Director PINS Prof Asif Bashir, MS Dr Omar Ishaq, MS Dr Faryad Hussain, DCNS Fazeelat Lal, Nursing Superintendent Asia Khanum, Punjab Paramedical Staff Association, Nursing Officers and a large number of health professionals participated in the ceremony.

Prof Al-Fareed Zafar congratulated the Christian community on the occasion and said that Christmas gives us a message of love, generosity, forgiveness, hope and a sense of spirituality. He said that the role of the Christian community in every walk of life including the development and prosperity of Pakistan cannot be ignored however the services of the Christian community in the fields of medical and education are very prominent for which they deserve appreciation.

Minister attends X-mas ceremony

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique attended a Christmas ceremony held at the Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH) as the chief guest and cut a cake on Thursday. Executive Director Dr Saqib Bajwa, Father James Channan, Allama Zubair Abid and a large number of Christian employees attended the ceremony.

Khawaja Salman while addressing the ceremony congratulated the Executive Director PIMH and his team for decorating a very beautiful Christmas ceremony. The Christian community had made many sacrifices in the creation of Pakistan.

X-mas cake cutting ceremony

University of Education, Lahore organised a ceremony for its Christian employees in connection with the Christmas at Main Campus, Township on Thursday. The event was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, who also cut a X-mas cake with the children. The ceremony was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Alam Saeed, Registrar M Naseer, faculty members, staff, and a large number of Christian employees.

In his address, Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community. He emphasised the invaluable services of the Christian community for the nation, highlighting the importance of honouring their contributions.
