ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary party in the National Assembly Wednesday strongly condemned the raids on the homes of the party legislators and camps and asked for halting the trend.

The demand was made during the parliamentary party meeting at the Parliament House here. The meeting reviewed the situation in relation to the legislature and its related strategy.

According to a statement issued at the end of the meeting, the forum strongly condemned the raids on the homes and camps of the PTI members of the National and Punjab Assembly.

“The pressure on the PTI MNAs and MPAs should be stopped. The meeting decided to protest vigorously in the House over the pressure on members and continuation of the series of raids,” it says. The parliamentary party demanded immediate formation of a judicial commission on the incidents of May 9 and November 26.

It emphasised that a judicial commission was indispensable for a transparent investigation of both incidents.

The meeting demanded immediate release of the founder of the party and all political prisoners. It also paid tribute to the martyrs of November 26.

“PTI and the leadership stand with their martyrs,” it maintained.

It noted that the founder of the party had already formed a negotiation committee with positive thinking and that it wanted that the country may move forward and develop and overcome the problems the government tried to inflict on the country.

“The problems will be solved only through negotiations for national development, as the country cannot develop without political stability,” the parliamentary party statement said.

The meeting resolved, “We are ready for negotiations for political stability and national development in the country.
