CM Punjab aide monitors anti-polio campaign

LALAMUSA: Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister on Polio Eradication Uzma Kardar visited Gujrat to review the ongoing polio vaccination campaign.

During her visit, she met Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Safdar Hussain and chaired a review meeting on the campaign’s progress. Uzma Kardar emphasised the Punjab Government’s commitment to eliminating polio, highlighting the strict monitoring mechanisms in place at every stage of the campaign. She praised the dedication of the campaign teams and the district administration, urging parents to ensure their children receive the polio vaccine to contribute to making Pakistan a polio-free country. “The Punjab Government is taking concrete steps to curb the spread of the poliovirus. I urge parents to cooperate fully in this critical effort,” she said.

Safdar Hussain announced that the campaign in Gujrat aims to immunise 514,982 children under five years of age and provide Vitamin A supplements to 463,484 children. To achieve this, 5,169 personnel have been deployed across various teams. Uzma Kardar, speaking at the DC Office, emphasised her visit aligns with the Punjab Chief Minister’s directive to support the polio eradication drive.
