‘Punjab govt committed to eradicate polio’

GUJRANWALA: The Health Department officers should play their effective role in eradicating polio from the province.It was said by Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir while addressing a meeting of district administration officials during his visit to Gujranwala here on Tuesday. The minister said that through hard work and teamwork, vaccination of every child upto the age of five year should be ensured during the anti-polio campaign. Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was committed to eradicate polio and the objectives can be achieved only through an effective anti-polio campaign. The minister directed that strict checking should be made at the entry and exit points of the districts and anti-polio teams should vaccinate the children in every vehicle.

DC Naveed Ahmed said that the district administration officers along with the health management teams were checking the anti-polio teams and a third-party audit was also being conducted through the youths who had come on internship.
