PMLN leader, LG reps granted pre-arrest bail

NOWSHERA: Additional District and Sessions Judge Majid Khan granted pre-arrest bail to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s central leader and Federal Minister Amir Muqam’s focal person Pir Zulfiqar Bacha along with two tehsil members in a case registered against them by Jehangira Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Shahana Sikandar.

Speaking at a press conference after the court appearance, Pir Syed Zulfiqar Bacha along with Qaiser Khan Lala and other PMLN leaders alleged that the Jehangira TMO seemed to be a worker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf than a public official.

“TMO Shahana Sikandar spends more time fulfilling her responsibilities as a worker of PTI rather than her official duties,” Bacha alleged, adding that a case was registered against them after the issue of encroachments in the bazaars of Akora Khattak were brought into her notice.

He said that when a request was made to Shahana Sikandar to remove encroachments from the Akora Khattak bazaars, she conducted an unnecessary operation using heavy machinery in Akora Khattak. The request was made to eliminate encroachments, not to extinguish the livelihoods of the poor, he added.They accused the police of filing baseless cases against them at the behest of government officials while neglecting the deteriorating law and order situation in the area.
