PM to open work on Mansehra-Muzaffarabad highway

MANSEHRA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon inaugurate the work on Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway, which will cost Rs45 billion.

“This mega communication project was approved by then prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 2016, but the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government scrapped it under the pretext of a shortage of funds. Our government has included it in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative,” The MNA Sardar Mohammad Yusuf told reporters on Tuesday.

“The prime minister will inaugurate work on this mega road project, which a consortium of China-Pakistan has approved,” Sardar Yusuf said.The PMLN’s central senior vice president said Rs 45 billion was allocated for the Mansehra-Muzafarabad Motorway, which will be extended to other parts of AJK in its second phase.

“This communication project will not only play a pivotal role in prosperity and development but will also create a boom in the tourism industry in AJK and KP,” he added.Sardar Yusuf, who previously served as the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs in the PML-N government, said that the 27km motorway will significantly reduce travel time between KP and AJK.

“According to surveys conducted by the relevant authorities, two tunnels spanning 4.3km will also be part of this state-of-the-art road project,” he said.He said that the preliminary survey the construction of 11 bridges with a total length of approximately 3km to connect KP with AJK.“Our party believes in achieving prosperity and development through such mega projects,” Sardar Yusuf said.
