PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) is scheduled to take up for hearings separate petitions today (Wednesday), one filed by Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, and the other about the deteriorating security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Both cases will be heard by different benches.
According to the court’s cause list, Bushra Bibi’s petition seeks details of cases registered against her. A two-member bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Wiqar Ahmad, will hear the case.
Similarly, a petition concerning the worsening law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be taken up by a separate two-member bench led by Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice SM Attique Shah.
At the previous hearing on the security petition, the court had directed the relevant committee to review the provincial government’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) on security and update the court on its findings.
