Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on further reduction in the weekly inflation rate to 3.57 per cent. Meanwhile, the finance minister has reportedly noted that the public is not yet benefitting from the decline in inflation and has announced a crackdown on price gouging and middlemen.
If the finance minister is indeed right, the PM should be congratulating the middlemen and not the country as a whole.
