ISLAMABAD: The high-power selection board (HPSB) has been rescheduled. According to sources, the meeting is not possible this week due to the unavoidable engagements of the Prime Minister.
On Monday, the Prime Minister called an important meeting on law and order. A federal cabinet meeting has been called on Tuesday. After that, the Prime Minister will leave on a three-day visit to Egypt from December 18. The meeting of the central selection board is also in jeopardy after the adjournment of the high-power board. According to sources, there will be a meeting of the high-power board first and promotions will be made in the central selection board on grade 21 vacancies. The number is said to be more than 40. The central selection board meeting has been called on December 23. A formal notification of its adjournment has not been released.
The last meeting of the high-power board was held in February 2023 and the last meeting of the central selection board was held in August 2023. In the meeting of the high-power board, grade 21 officers are promoted to grade 22. In the central selection board meeting, grade 19 officers are promoted to grade 20 and grade 20 officers to grade 21. The high-power board is chaired by the Prime Minister.
