PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai on Monday warned that the civil disobedience could become unavoidable if the government continued delaying meaningful dialogue with them.
“The civil disobedience movement call is still in place and if the government didn’t show sincerity and seriousness in talks, the party chairman is likely to announce it,” he said in his video message. Despite repeated overtures by PTI Chairman Imran Khan for talks, Shaukat Yousafzai criticised the government’s “immature and arrogant behaviour,” holding it responsible for the growing impasse and warning of dire economic and political consequences. In a video statement, Shaukat Yousafzai disclosed that PTI leadership had convinced Imran Khan to postpone launching the civil disobedience movement, urging him to explore negotiations as a last resort to prevent further instability.
