Islamabad:The Floral Art Society (Magnolia Chapter) held a special meeting at a restaurant at Daman-e-Koh. The event began with the recitation of Holy Quran by Sarwat Aslam, after which the secretary, Yasmeen Salman read the minutes of the previous meeting.
The first demonstrator, Suzanne Jamshed, a seasoned professional in event management and creative arts, was introduced by show chairperson, Huma Ehsan. Suzanne taught the audience the art of decoupage using paper napkins and rice paper - quite an ‘in’ thing these days - displaying seven beautiful floral arrangements to accentuate the technique.
The second demonstrator, Kehkashan Zaheer, is an educationist who is an amateur gardener as well. She gave a comprehensive lecture on spring gardening, explaining how to take care of the plants in this chilly weather so that they could produce beautiful blossoms in spring. Because she kept the audience engaged, it’s certain that everyone benefited from her expertise.
Both demonstrators were given little tokens of appreciation by the president, Wiqarunnisa Boolani and birthday ‘girls’ were presented small gifts as well. Lunch followed, served on the terraces of the restaurant, with the scenic Margalla Hills on one side and a lovely view of Islamabad on the other. A day well spent!
