Commissioner for administering
anti-polio drops to every child

BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur Commissioner Saqib Zafar Tuesday called upon health officials and all quarters concerned to make all-out efforts to administer anti-polio drops to every child to attain hundred per cent coverage.
Presiding over a high-level meeting to review achievements of anti-polio vaccination drive held in his conference room, the Commissioner directed health officials to pay special attention to have state-of-the-art cold chain to preserve quality of vaccines.
He asked security officials to extend foolproof security cover to polio teams.
The meeting was attended by Chairman Southern Punjab Task Force Committee for anti-adulteration of medicine MPA Qazi Adnan Farid, DCO Dr Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar, EDO (health) Dr Shahid Khaliq. Additional Commissioner Saqib Ali, health officials and other officers and officials of the concerned departments.
The Commissioner was briefed by health officials that a close and effective coordination and interaction between polio teams and security officials was maintained.
ACS ASKED TO MONITOR AUCTION: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Ehtisham Anwer Mahaar Tuesday directed all Assistant Commissioners to personally monitor daily auctions of vegetables and fruit at relevant markets in Bahawalpur district to ensure smooth supply chain of fruit and vegetables at affordable prices.
He issued these directions during a surprise visit of Ramazan Bazaar at Railway Station and Mealy Wali Gali.
5-YEAR-OLD BOY BURNS: A boy of five-year-old suffered burns in Chak 58/Fateh on Tuesday.
Muhammad Ahmad suffered burn injuries when he fell into a pot of hot water.
He was rushed to Bahawal Victoria Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
