LAHORE: As many as 310 vehicles worth around Rs2.12 billion were illegally purchased for solid waste management during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Punjab.
This was revealed in a recent investigation report released by the Punjab Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee over the issue.
According to the report, 310 vehicles were illegally purchased for the solid waste management in Punjab at a cost of Rs2.12 billion.
The report stated that approval was not taken from the Board of Directors for the purchase of vehicles and advance payment was made for the purchase of vehicles by ignoring the PPRA rules.
The committee, in its report, recommended that the relevant officers be summoned to further investigate the illegal purchase.
